History:

Never in the history of the world has their been a school such as this. In the Flesh body graphics was established in 1998. We have worked very hard and done our due diligence for our #1 rating. We are still one of the few that petition for stricter laws to govern our industry. We strive to give our customers the best care to ensure their health and the health of their tattoo or piercing. We use the most modern equipment, progressive thinking, teaching techniques and specifically designed instructional techniques to assure maximum achievement.

Through both training and continuing education, the School provides the student with the tools necessary to become a highly respected professional Tattoo Artist or Piercer.

What it takes to have a career as a Tattoo Artist:

Although it always helps if you have artistic ability it is not necessary. With our specifically designed art class we will teach you what you need to know artistically to succeed in our industry. You will even leave our halls with your own portfolio of art work you designed.

You must enjoy dealing with the public, building a report with clients and be able to follow instruction.

Make a strong commitment to the educational process and training.

Learn the skill necessary to operate a personal business successfully.

Tattoo industry facts and awareness:

You will be dealing with an open wound which will exude blood. Therefore causing the tattoo artist to be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, much like a dentist or a nurse. A hepatitis B shot would well be advised before you start the school.

The practice of safety and sanitation is essential for effective and successful performance within the industry.

Can I be a professional Tattoo Artist:

The staff at In the Flesh can train you in a career as a Tattoo Artist and its related areas, however before you enroll, ask yourself these questions:

1. Do I enjoy working with people?

2. Do I enjoy using my creative energies in a positive and profitable manner?

3. Do I like to make other people feel good about themselves?

4. Would I like a job where I would see the effort of my work immediately?

5. Can I follow instruction well and be un-bias about the artwork I perform?

6. Can I stand the site of blood and handle crisis situations (people do pass out or throw up sometimes)?

7. Does touching another human bother me?

8. Can I work long hours to build clientele?

9. Can I handle criticism from peers and family?

10. Can I handle working with a diverse group of people?

11. Can I handle criticism well? We will do our best to teach you your job but that does involve criticism.

Placement assistance:

No school can or will guarantee placement, yet it is vitally important to both the students and the school that each student be placed. There are many factors such as appearance, personality and one’s ability to get along with others that are just as important in obtaining a position as the skills you learn. In the Flesh currently does not offer placement, but does provide you with most of the documentation you may need to help you get a job in our industry.
